Natural break at Sounds of the 70s : a deep breath of naturally funky tracks from the 70s

Hi folks. Here is another set of dusty tracks from the golden era, and a reminder about

the total urge to become responsible and respectful concerning mother nature.

LET'S GIVE NATURE A BREAK

=> Ban products that directly or indirectly produce excessive or useless waste, especially PLASTIC, the worst of all packaging material

=> Recycle as much as you can

=> Be judgmental about people who don´t recycle or live by rules respectful of nature. Yes indeed, social pressure works on humans!

Then if you share these values, I wish you a good break too, and this comp might help:

1 - Paul Kuhn - Sunny
2 - Killin' time - Natural Essence
3 - Lavern Baker & Jimmy Ricks - You're The Boss
4 - Original Cast Recording - A New Generation

Soundsofthe70s presents

Solid State - amplified sound waves from the 70s

This compilation is a sweet mix of rare grooves from various continents. Some tracks will make you feel in spanish harlem NY, others in Lagos, Rio or London. In any case you will sense the power of inspiration that prevailed at the time they were recorded, the 70s. Some tracks have been freshly ripped from my vinyl collection, most tracks never appeared in the blogsphere before.

Great great news on the latin soul side again, definitely in the air among djs, dustymusic lovers and funky people from all over the world:

Vampi Soul, the super cool label from Spain has just released a new album by the absolute NY latin soul master from the 70s, Joe Bataan.
His is backed here by the very funky Barcelona based band Los Fulanos who manage to deliver a true 70s feel to these revisited classic 70s gemms.

Hi everybody, today I just finished to upgrade my recording toys, new Ortofon Red cartridge, new Tascam US-144 USB sound recording DAC, new Monster cables too. The result is good I think, and I would like to get your advice!

As a sample, here is a vinyl ripped track from a superb project made in France, called Motown flies to Jamaica. The concept : reggae covers of Motown finest sounds. The result is stunning. I heard that this is 100% bootleg, made with acapella tapes then overdubbed.

My guess : how these guys managed to get so many acapella tapes? I suspect Motown to be behind this project, and create the buzz... Anyway, I love both concepts...

I love when labels start digging 70s mastertapes archive and release precious remastered 70s material, with a cristal sound

Sounds of the 70s will always support initiatives of that sort, this month it is time to advertise one of THE compilation of 2009 (the year starts well!)

A new BGP compilation that Dustry Groove rightly describes with these words:

"One of the hippest sets we've ever seen on Spanish Harlem - a collection that goes way past the Latin Soul hits, to dig deep in the uptown underground at the end of the 60s! The package is compiled with gems from the Fania catalog, but rally moves past the obvious - going for some of the more obscure artists who recorded singles for some of the smaller Fania-held labels -- and often focusing on tunes that drew more from late 60s soul and funk than they did from any Latin rhythms of the time"

Grab this great CD, nice package, inserts and CD sound! really good work...

I think it is clear to everyone that 2009 will be a tough year. A great part of the 70s music was made in an economically depressed time after the october 1973 crisis. Well: music doesn't need big bucks to flourish we all know that (except the majors of course...)

Here is a good crisis pain killer, the usual good stuff delivered here at soundsofthe70s, rare and soulful, @320kbps.
This 1998 compilation is made in France by a small Djs label called SuperClasse, not remastered but well recorded. Tracks range from Bossa to Samba funk, all we love.
